FAQ

1.What is Sashimi?

Sashimi are raw slices of fish. Here in Fujiyama our most common Sashimi is Salmon, Tuna.

2.What is Maki?

Maki is sushi made by rolling certain ingredients in seaweed. Maki sushi is generally wrapped in nori (seaweed) and is usually cut into six or eight pieces, which constitutes a single roll order.

3.What is URA MAKI?

Ura Maki is an inside out maki (rice outside, seaweed inside) usually called an iside out roll.The filling is in the centre surrounded by nori, then a layer of rice, and optionally an outside coating of some ingredients such as roe or toasted sesame seeds. One of our favourites is the Ura Maki combo with Salmon Salad, Tuna Salad and California roll.

4.What is Nigiri?

Nigiri is rice with a topping, it is hand-formed by gently squeezing the ingredients together.

5.What is Gunkan?

A thin piece of Nori is wrapped around a ball of rice in order to hold the topping in place.

6.What is Tekami?

Temaki is a hand roll, made by placing ingredients on a sheet of seaweed and then shaping it into a cone.

7.I am vegetarian, can i still eat sushi?

Yes, we do offer many vegetarian options in our sushi, hot sides and hot dishes sections. If you need further help with the vegetarian food options ,please contact our staff directly.

8.Is your chicken and beef irish?

Yes, all of our chicken and beef used in our restaurants are Irish.
